By the tiswa editorial team, from the official sources listed at the end of this guide. How we write our guides
The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) has opened applications for Sunna Al-Ghad, a co-op training programme at its Jeddah headquarters for students expected to graduate in 2027.34 Job-site reprints of the notice put the opening of registration in early November 2026, but the SGS trainee page we opened shows no dates, so treat the calendar below as reported, not confirmed.
Is Sunna Al-Ghad 2027 different from the 2025 round?
Yes, mainly in length. The 2025 round took applications for two weeks from 18 June 2025, and it moved through stages: announcement of open places, selection and admission, registration and start, training with evaluation, then graduation with a completion certificate.2 The 2027 notice runs on a longer calendar, from registration in November to a January training start, and the placement itself lasts 3 to 6 months at SGS headquarters in Jeddah.34
The notice describes the programme as applied training in a working environment, linking academic study to practice and offering professional guidance within the training track, with attention to sustainability.34 The notices do not describe the day-to-day tasks, so ask SGS what a trainee actually does before you choose.

Who is eligible for Sunna Al-Ghad 2027?
The programme covers students at universities who expect to graduate in 2027, from all majors.4 One notice says it is open to men and women.4
A third notice describes the target as bachelor's graduates for 2027, a different wording from the 'expected to graduate' phrase used elsewhere, so ask SGS to confirm if your graduation date is not clearly 2027.5 The notices say 'university students' without naming private or public institutions, and they do not mention non-Saudi students.3
What documents does the Sunna Al-Ghad form need?
The form asks for your personal details, university, and field of study from a list of 28 named options plus 'other'. It then asks for your cumulative GPA, the training type and duration, and three uploaded files.1
- The university training request letter, which is the first file in the upload list.
- Your CV.
- Your academic record.
- A declaration that the data is accurate and that you accept responsibility for it.
When does Sunna Al-Ghad registration open?
Registration opens in early November 2026 and closes in mid-November, according to three reposts that agree on that window.345 Selection and admission follow from 16 to 30 November, then the preparation phase runs from 1 to 29 December.34 The SGS trainee page does not show any of these dates. One repost names the SGS X account as its source, so check that account before you book housing or plan a move to Jeddah.5
When does Sunna Al-Ghad training start?
Training is reported to start on 1 or 17 January 2027, because the reposts disagree. One puts the training and evaluation start at 17 January, the other at 1 January.34 That gap of about two weeks is enough to change a move date or a lease, so wait for SGS to confirm before you commit.
How do I apply to SGS coop training?
Apply through the trainee form on sgs.gov.sa, not through a button inside a repost, and follow these six steps.
- Open the form on the SGS site
Go to sgs.gov.sa and follow Academy page > Training and Development > Sunna Al-Ghad > Trainee form.1
- Enter your details
Give your full name, email, mobile number and university.1
- Pick your field
Choose one named field, or 'other' and type your specialisation in the free-text box.1
- Add your GPA and training type
Enter your cumulative GPA, select co-op training rather than summer, and state the duration you can commit to.1
- Upload three files
Attach the university training request letter, your CV and your academic record. Each file must be 2 MB or less, as JPG, PNG or PDF.1
- Confirm and submit
Tick the declaration that your data is accurate, then submit. The form confirms receipt after a successful upload.1

What if the upload fails?
Retry later with the same files. When an upload fails, the form shows an error message and asks you to try again later.1 Keep a PDF copy of each document on your own device before you upload, so you are not hunting for the letter again on every attempt.
Is there a Sunna Al-Ghad stipend?
No source we opened mentions a stipend, allowance or transport support, so do not budget for one. The form asks for personal details, documents and a declaration, and it has no payment field.1 Ask SGS in writing before you accept a place.
What happens after Sunna Al-Ghad selection?
After selection, the 2025 round moved trainees to registration and start, then to training and evaluation, and it ended with a completion certificate.2 The notice also says outstanding graduates may be considered for jobs at the SGS or related bodies, as the need arises.2 None of the sources we opened says what happens in the December preparation phase or how candidates are ranked.
What do the notices leave out?
Selection criteria, the number of places and any allowance are missing from every notice we read. Put those questions to SGS in writing.
- What happens in the December preparation phase, and what a trainee must hand in during it.
- The day-to-day tasks inside the placement, which the notices describe only as applied training.
- How trainees are evaluated during the training and evaluation phase, which the notices do not detail.
What mistakes do applicants make?
The two that cost the most are applying from a repost link and answering a request for money or bank details.
- Applying from a button inside a repost. One repost sends its apply button to a WhatsApp channel rather than the SGS form.4
- Paying or sharing bank details. One notice says the application involves no advance payments or personal bank details, and a job site that carries the notice advises refusing any request for payment, bank data or verification codes.35
- Planning around one date from one source, when the reposts disagree on the start.
- Reading 'all majors' as 'all students'. The expected 2027 graduation condition still applies.
- Uploading a file over 2 MB, or in a format other than JPG, PNG or PDF.1
Is Sunna Al-Ghad a summer internship?
No. The notices call it a co-op programme of 3 to 6 months, and the SGS form offers co-op and summer training as separate options, so choose co-op. For the difference between the two, read summer internship versus co-op.
For the letter, read the co-op training request letter guide. For placement terms and your rights, co-op training in Saudi Arabia covers the contract. And if your CV is still a draft, the CV guide for students with no experience gives a template.
