How the calculator works
It multiplies each course's grade points by its credit hours, adds the results, and divides by the total hours. That is your semester GPA. If you enter your previous cumulative GPA and hours, it rebuilds your earlier quality points (GPA × hours), adds this semester, and gives your new cumulative GPA.
Grade points come from KFUPM's undergraduate regulations on both scales, which match King Saud University's 5-point table. The full method with a worked example is in how to calculate your GPA out of 5 and 4.
How the GPA you need is worked out
Enter the cumulative GPA you want and the hours you still have to take (one semester or more). The calculator works out (target × all hours) minus your current quality points, divided by the coming hours. If the answer is above 5 (or 4), the target cannot be reached in those hours, and it tells you roughly how many hours you would need at full marks.
