How your age is worked out

  • Gregorian age: the full years from your birth date to today, with the rest in months and days.
  • Hijri age: the full Hijri years on the Umm al-Qura calendar. A Hijri year is about 11 days shorter, so your Hijri age is usually higher.
  • If you were born on 29 February, your birthday in other years is 28 February.

You can enter your birth date in Hijri if that is what your ID shows; the calculator converts it on the Umm al-Qura calendar.
