The formulas

  • Adding VAT: price × 1.15. For example, SAR 200 becomes SAR 230, with SAR 30 of VAT.
  • Taking VAT out of a price that includes it: price ÷ 1.15. For example, SAR 230 including VAT is SAR 200 before VAT.
  • The VAT inside a price: price − (price ÷ 1.15). It is not the price including VAT × 15%.

ZATCA requires a simplified tax invoice to be in Arabic and to show the total price including VAT.
