What are the admission requirements at Saudi Electronic University?
Saudi Electronic University is a public university that teaches in blended mode: virtual lectures on Blackboard plus attendance at its branches. Its official site now carries the name Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University. This page gathers what the university publishes on admission, fees and the thirteen bachelor's programmes in its four colleges, each fact taken from an official page listed in the sources.
SEU publishes the following admission rules2, which we carry over as the official page states them:
- There is no minimum percentage to apply, but your percentage counts in the competition between applicants.
- You do not have to be a recent secondary graduate; admission is competitive on the secondary average.
- No secondary track is required except for the College of Health Sciences, which asks for the science track.
- Non-Saudis with legal residence can apply within the seats reserved for non-Saudis, which are 5%.
- You apply online through the admission portal and upload your documents there; the branch may match them in person when needed.
- English is not an admission condition, but you must pass it to clear the common first year.
- You cannot withdraw for a term or postpone during the common first year.
- There is no transfer from another university; you can apply as a new student and have only the common-first-year and Islamic culture courses equated.
- The university has no bridging route for diploma holders.
These are the admission conditions for each major or college2: the high-school track, the weighting of the score, the minimum, and whatever else is asked.
| Major | Track | Score weights | Minimum | Other conditions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Health Informatics | Science | - | - | - |
| Public Health | Science | - | - | - |
| English Language and Translation | - | - | STEP 65% | after passing the common first year |

How does study work at Saudi Electronic University?
Study is blended, mixing classroom and online attendance: some lectures are virtual on Blackboard and some are face to face at the branch. Bachelor's students must attend 66%, counted across both virtual and in-person sessions, so do not treat the virtual lectures as optional.2
Teaching is in English in every programme except Law and Digital Media, which are taught in Arabic. In the common first year the university teaches English in class alongside the Oxford programme, and because English is a condition for passing that year it is the first thing to prepare for if your programme is taught in it.2
How much does Saudi Electronic University cost?
Study is not free: the fee is SAR 265 per academic hour in a regular semester, before VAT. Most bachelor's programmes are 130 hours, so 130 times 265 comes to about SAR 34,450 for the whole programme for a Saudi student, and more for Law, Public Health and English, which have more hours.2
Saudi students pay no VAT on tuition because the state covers it; non-Saudi students pay 15% on top of the hourly fee. Budget by the number of hours you register each semester, not by the number of years.2
Has Saudi Electronic University changed its name?
The official site on the same domain now presents the university as Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University, and the programme pages use the new name. When you search for the university, an enrolment letter or the admission rules you will meet both names, and both refer to the same university and the same branches.17
Admission rules and fees change, so check the university admission portal and FAQ before you apply. Choose a programme by its teaching language and its hours, because hours are what you pay for, prepare your English before the common first year, and then follow student prices on laptops and subscriptions on tiswa once verified.
How much are Saudi Electronic University fees?
This is the SEU fee table as the university publishes it2. all in Saudi riyals.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Bachelor's credit hour in a regular semester, before VAT | SR 265 per credit hour |
