Pioneers track scholarship deadline 2026: closing day, and what the official pages leave open

The Pioneers track (مسار الرواد) sends students admitted to a top-30 university abroad. The closing date comes from reposts, so read what the official pages confirm first.

The short answer

The Pioneers track scholarship deadline is Sunday, 1448/6/5 AH, the closing day in two reposts of the 2026 announcement. The track sends students with a final, unconditional admission from a top-30 institution to in-person study abroad. The ministry's own track page shows no 2026 dates, so confirm the closing day first.

By the tiswa editorial team, from the official sources listed at the end of this guide. How we write our guides

The Pioneers track page on the Ministry of Education site asks for a final, unconditional admission. The university has to appear on the track's list of 30 institutions, and the page shows no 2026 dates.1 The closing day in circulation, Sunday, 1448/6/5 AH, comes from two reposts of the 2026 announcement, not from the ministry itself.45 We give it here with its source and mark what we could not confirm.

What is the Pioneers track scholarship?

The Pioneers track (مسار الرواد) is one track of the King's Scholarship for Study Abroad, the name the reposts use.4 It sends students to a university on a list of 30 institutions spread across eight countries.1 The track covers bachelor's and master's levels and every specialty, and study on it is in person only.1 University admission is the entry point, not the final step, so the work starts at the admissions office of the university you want.

Who is eligible for the Pioneers track?

Eligibility starts with the admission itself: a direct offer from a university on the programme's list of 30, issued by that university's admissions and registration office.1 The official FAQ states the same rule for bachelor's and master's applicants.2

  • The letter comes from the admissions and registration office, not from a department.1
  • It must be final. Under the track's own rule, a conditional offer does not count, with one exception covered below.1
  • The university has to appear on the list of 30 that the track page says is on the site. This post does not reproduce the list.
  • Applicants are at bachelor's or master's level.2

Admission to a well-known university is not enough on its own. If the university is off the list, the offer does not count for this track, whatever its global ranking. The two reposts match the ministry page's conditions, so the disagreement between sources is about the portal, not the rules.145

Does a conditional offer work for a non-English country?

Yes, in one case. Where the country's main language is not English, admission can be conditional on language study, and the scholarship then pays for that study.1 The page does not name the eight countries, so do not assume your university falls under that exception until its letter says so.

Pioneers track scholarship deadline 2026

The closing day is Sunday, 1448/6/5 AH, according to both reposts.45 Both are third-party copies of the announcement, not ministry pages. The MOE track page shows no 2026 dates, so treat any other date you see as unconfirmed until an official channel gives it. The reposts also describe an opening date, but the closing day is what decides when you must file. Plan around it, and confirm it well before that day, not on the final evening.

Can I apply before getting the admission letter?

The official sources do not answer this. The MOE FAQ asks for a direct, unconditional admission but says nothing about the order of events, so it does not say whether you can file before the letter exists.2 It also does not say whether a letter issued after the closing day counts. Some guides online say the letter has to come first. We did not open those guides, and we found no MOE page that says so, so plan as if the letter is required before you file.

Safeer or Qubool: which portal for the Pioneers track?

The sources do not agree on the portal. The MOE track page and its FAQ both carry an apply button that goes to Safeer.12 The two reposts name Qubool: one sends its apply button to the Qubool homepage, the other to a WhatsApp channel.45 The Qubool homepage describes itself as a platform for applications to government universities, and it shows no 2026 track.3 No page we opened explains which portal takes this track, so do not pick one from a repost.

How do I apply for the Pioneers track scholarship?

Start with the letter, since each later step depends on it. Then check the list, the portal and your choice of university.

  1. Get the letter first

Ask the admissions and registration office for the letter, then read its wording. Check that it says final and unconditional before you build anything on it.

  2. Look your university up on the list

Search the list of 30 on the track page for your university's name. A strong place in a general ranking does not stand in for it.

  3. Find the track in the portal

Start from the ministry's track page and confirm the track appears on the portal before you upload anything. Skip any link that comes from a repost.

  4. Pick the university you would accept

Only one application on the track is accepted, ranked by merit, so apply where you would actually enrol rather than to a long list.

  5. Save your own record

Keep the letter, a copy of the application and the submission date. The sources we checked mention no receipt or tracking number.

Pioneers track scholarship fees and documents

The pages we opened do not answer these questions:

  • The application fee, the required documents and how to upload them.
  • GPA, age and nationality rules. The general conditions page is linked from the track page, but we did not check it.
  • Language test requirements, and which of the eight countries fall under the language-study rule.
  • Whether a letter issued after the closing day counts, whether the window is extended, and whether another window opens later.
  • Tuition, stipend and flights, which the official pages we checked do not list.
  • The 2026 to 2027 guide linked from the track page, which we have not opened.

Which mistakes do students make with the Pioneers track?

The rules and the portal setup point to four mistakes worth avoiding:

  • Assuming an offer from a well-known university is enough. The track wants a university on the list and a final letter.1
  • Pressing the WhatsApp button in a repost, which is not an official portal.
  • Sending several applications in the hope that more forms improve the odds. Only one application is accepted.1
  • Treating a closing date from a job site as confirmed without checking the ministry.

If you are looking at scholarships after graduation, start with scholarship after a bachelor's degree, then open the Safeer platform guide once you have a file there. After an offer, read what the Saudi cultural mission decides for scholarship students.
